Improving school security is a great idea in most cases. However, when you do it at the expense of the students’ freedom and carefree activities, then it becomes a big problem that students and parents alike will bring to your attention. Fortunately, there are ways that you can use security measures that are non-invasive, so that everyone can go home happy:
- A comprehensive school security system can be used and upgraded to cover every area where teachers and guards can’t usually cover too well. That way, any suspects entering the school can be identified with ease, and the proper measures can be enacted before they can do any damage.
- Advanced technology can also be combined with facial recognition school security cameras to recognize the facial features of students and parents who enter the school. Although this technology isn’t perfect, it can at least give security a “heads up” in terms of any suspect individuals who wouldn’t normally have any business entering the school grounds.
- Finally, it’s also a good idea to recruit trustworthy students who can act as guides to younger children and mediate problems or escalate them to the teaching staff or to the security staff, if necessary. That way, students who carry dangerous items or who are trying to cause trouble or harm can be identified before their actions can get anyone hurt.
